Jellyfish by ernieleo Jellyfish by ernieleo
[link] another one =)

Jellyfish are commonly displayed in aquaria in many countries; among them the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, Vancouver Aquarium, New York Aquarium,Seattle Aquarium, New England Aquarium, Newport Aquarium, National Aquarium in Baltimore, Tennessee Aquarium, Georgia Aquarium and Maui Ocean Center. Often the tank's background is blue and the animals are illuminated by side light to produce a high contrast effect. In natural conditions, many jellies are so transparent that they are almost impossible to see.

Love the contrast between the blue and the orange! Great shot!

Jellyfish are truely amazing creatures. Hey, some can even age backwards!

I love jellyfish photos and this one is simply beautiful.. Unfortunatelly, as I told you another day, here we don't have these light conditions.. Wonderful photo. They are so beautiful..

Thanks....I have several more ;)....I guess I'm lucky to have this lighting....shot wide open at F/4...ISO800 and a really slow shutter speed of 1/40.....very slow for hand held and a moving creature and being old besides =).....only 1 or 2 shots per 25 where in focus......

I perfectly understand your problems taking these photos.. here the background is black and there is no side light.. they look transparent.. :(

I adore jellyfish so much
And this is a very beautiful depiction :)
Though I don't much care for the border ;) I feel like I'm watching them through a television instead of actually being there.

Haha... I've been to 2 of those aquariums you mentioned... and I'm going to the Vancouver aquarium next week :D Hopefully I'll get more shots of the little buggers.

This one [link] was taken at the New England aquarium :)
