Very nice tutorial. Thank you very much.  Very well done! I keep wanting to do a coming-out-of-the-border tutorial but not getting around to it, but now I don't have to! You've covered all the points I would have made, including all the little details about which tools are helpful in different situations. I think it will be very easy to understand for someone new to PS while still being extremely instructive for someone more experienced.
The only thing I would add is that I would have blurred the shadow a little bit at the end--probably Gaussian blur at a few pixels radius. -- Life is complex. It has both real and imaginary components. My new blog: Intrinsically Knotted   Great
